If so, we invite you to apply for the Business Analyst position in the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) on the Business Analysis Services team. This is an entry-level professional position accountable for determining business needs and translating them into functional specifications. The business analyst will define the system's scope, objectives, and functionality based on user input and understanding of business processes. This position provides the basis for the design or modification of information systems through business analysis and documents requirements. The Business Analyst is typically assigned work on more moderate complexity and/or impact/risk projects/systems.

    • Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

    • The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.


    This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) Business Analysis Services team.

    • Serve as a liaison between business clients and developers.
    • Requirements gathering and elicitation.
    • Facilitate process mapping sessions.
    • Document current and future process flows.
    • Interpret functionality requirements.
    • Create Technical Specification documentation.
    • Develop test scripts.
    • Assist with QA testing.
    • Provide user acceptance testing guidance.
    • Work collaboratively with project management staff.
    • Actively participate in project teams.
    • Facilitate the delivery of services and continuing improvement efforts.


    Critical skills for success are high-detail planning, expert ability to communicate, and the ability to perform top-notch analyst work.

    • Ability to create and understand process diagrams, flowcharts, and business models.
    • Ability to identify and define problem statements, scope, objectives, and functionality of a project.
    • Ability to translate technical terminology into easy-to-understand terms.
    • Skilled in outlining and documenting project scope, objectives, and writing use cases.
    • Skilled in translating business processes into information technology requirements.
    • Ability to assess situations, including risks and benefits, receive feedback from stakeholders, and select a course of action

      Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • ITSD experience preferred.
