Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
What you’ll do: - Initiate and perform the payroll duties for all personnel actions, which include full-time and temporary new employees, promotions, transfers, probationary increases, leave without pay, terminations and retirements.
- Process payroll deductions.
- Calculate individual employee pay distribution.
- Meet all required deadlines for timely dissemination of pay to employees.
- Maintain complex data in several databases and SAM II system. Includes all employment and position information in SAM II, data in personnel database and staff time and leave system.
- Prepare related payroll and personnel forms.
- Verify accuracy of payroll checks.
- Provide training related to payroll and procedures to area office administrative assistants and central office timekeepers.
All you need for success: A bachelor’s degree in business management, human resources, personnel, business administration, or related areas.

2. Two years of previous work and/or supervision, technical experience in a State of Missouri human resource operation implementing payroll, benefits, workers’ compensation, retirement and similar programs may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
