Why you’ll love this position:The general services intern performs routine entry-level activities in the areas of facilities maintenance and repair. May assist with building inspections. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision.
- Performs routine maintenance on building interiors, such as replacing light bulbs, switches and fuses; repairing windows and blinds; and installing floor and ceiling tile.
- Perform facility renovation, repair, and maintenance functions such as pouring and finishing concrete, roofing, painting and plastering, and installing carpet, sheetrock, and doors.
- Perform routine maintenance to plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems.
- Repair, move, and assemble file cabinets and furniture.
- Load and unload freight and deliver to appropriate offices.
- Perform maintenance to building exteriors and grounds, such as snow removal, mowing, trimming, and related activities.
- May assist with annual building inspections.
- Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - Enrolled in a relevant 2-year/associate’s degree program (electrical, HVAC, building maintenance technology, etc.) full-time (12+ credit hours).
- 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply.
- Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
