Provide divisional administrative managers and supervisors with advice and technical information on employee matters, and resolve complex problems in the areas of employee relations and personnel.
Interpret, explain and apply federal and state civil rights laws and regulations and departmental and divisional policies and procedures in the conduct of divisional personnel matters.
Analyze information and documentation related to employee disciplinary issues and prepare an official notification that cites relevant facts.
Work closely with agency legal counsel on employee issues, and in preparation of responses to interrogatories or other litigation actions.
Review and advise the Division Director on employee requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, PWFA, and Amendments.
Manage Employment Security requests, respond to unemployment protests online, collaborate with Employment Security for additional details, and attend unemployment appeal hearings as necessary.
Recommend and participate in policy development, and work on project teams representing divisional interests and processes.
Exercises independent judgment and initiative under general supervision.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Required: Three or more years of professional, office-related clerical or administrative support experience.
Preferred knowledge - One or more years of experience as an Administrative Support Assistant (SOSA) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System, and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
ORFour or more years of office or related clerical experience, and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
(Training from an accredited vocational or business school in Office Management, Secretarial Science, or a closely related field may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours, or 480 clock hours, for one year.)
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.)
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:
- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00 pm (noon) and 5:00 am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e., institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
