    Position Description

    Tacoma Water is

    seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mobile Work & Business

    Process Analyst to provide crucial Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and

    implementation support.

    This role is pivotal in optimizing our operational and enterprise business

    processes, acting as a key liaison with IT and managing the critical mobile technology infrastructure that keeps our

    field staff connected.

    This role is a

    dynamic combination of operational technology support, business process

    analysis, and administrative oversight. You'll serve as a super user for core

    enterprise systems like SAP and the Mobile Work Force Management (MWM) system. Your work will directly contribute to the

    continuous improvement, implementation, and documentation of vital M&C

    business processes and enterprise technologies. A significant portion of this

    role is self-directed, requiring initiative and a proactive approach.

    You will provide direct analytical support to the Senior Mobile Work Analyst

    and offer data-driven insights to Tacoma Water Management.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Enterprise System

    Super User & Business Process Analyst

    • Act as a SME and super user for core enterprise systems, including SAP

      and the MWM system.
    • Supports Water field staff with all technology providing troubleshooting and maintenance, escalating issues to IT and coordinating with IT and ITAM, as required.
    • Perform daily

      monitoring and analysis of MWM system processes, ensuring consistent use and

      identifying deviations.
    • Be responsible for

      locating, understanding, and resolving errors between SAP and MWM.
    • Analyze current

      M&C business processes, provide data-driven recommendations for

      improvements, and create/maintain process documentation.
    • Provide analytical

      and implementation support to senior technical staff, including tracking trends

      and recommending solutions for reoccurring issues.

    Operational

    Technology & Wireless Administration

    • Manage and maintain

      the complete lifecycle of over 400 mobile lines and devices for Tacoma Water staff.
    • Act as the primary

      point of contact for all wireless accounts, managing orders, escalations, and

      resolving coverage or billing issues with carriers.
    • Serve as the SME for

      configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting all Water applications on mobile

      devices.
    • Administer the field

      laptop locker cabinet, ensuring up to 40 laptops are connected, receiving

      system updates, and functioning efficiently in the field.
    • Lead technology

      projects and upgrades involving mobile phones and Mobile Device Management

      (MDM) software/processes.
    • Ensure the security

      and responsible lifecycle management of devices, including secure data removal

      and recycling.


    Qualifications

    Minimum Education*
    Bachelor's degree public or business administration, information technology or directly related field

    Minimum Experience*
    2 years of analytical and/or functional analyst, user support or database maintenance work in area related to assignment (providing analytical support of technology, such as a work order management system directly related to field tasks and operations)

    *Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education

    Other Employment Information

    Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.

    Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.

    Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
