The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) seeks an Executive Assistant to the Department Director. This position is domiciled in Jefferson City.
The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative support, logistical and project assistance to the Director and other senior level executives. This includes managing calendars, preparing correspondence, reports and presentations, coordinating meetings, handling sensitive information with confidentiality and acting as a liaison with other agencies and the public. The ideal candidate will exercise good judgement in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
The base salary offered for this position is up to $72,854.88 annually, commensurate with education and experience. If the selected candidate is eligible for a pay differential, such as retention pay, the total salary may exceed what is listed in this posting.
- Calendar and Schedule Management: Coordinate complex appointments, meetings and events for the Director and other senior managers.
- Correspondence and Document Management: Draft, edit and produce confidential correspondence, memos and reports; manage physical and electronic filing systems.
- Administrative Support: Travel logistics, expense accounts, etc.
- Liaison and Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors and callers, responding to inquiries and referring issues as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Display excellent communication skills by interacting with people of all levels in a confident, professional manner.
- Use tact, diplomacy and a professional demeanor when interacting with Legislators, employees, consumers and the public.
- Ability to work independently.
- Exercise good judgement in a variety of situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills.
- An ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-paced environment and perform other duties as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite. (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Must pass a background screen.
