The City of Rancho Cordova is seeking a
College Intern who has an unwavering commitment to a team-based environment, possesses effective communication and written skills, and the ability to work well in a busy office. Incumbent must have excellent customer service skills, a can-do attitude, and pay a great attention to detail.
This internship position in the
Community Enhancement and Investment Fund Division will provide technical, administrative, and customer support to a small but mighty team focused on community grant-making. The intern experience will be in-office and include opportunities to conduct research, write analysis, use modern technology, visit locations in the community, and meet with members of the public virtually or in person. Interested candidates must be comfortable speaking on the telephone and using email, or willing to learn.

APPLY TODAY *Recruitment will remain until Friday, October 31, 2025 - first review of applications will take place early November 2025* --------------------------------------- This position is limited to no more than 25 hours per week and 1000 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). Work will take place in-person at Rancho Cordova's City Hall during standard business hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday). The team will work with the intern to set a flexible schedule that accounts for academic commitments.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIESUnder close supervision, this position will assist in a variety of tasks with the Community Enhancement and Investment Fund Division. Depending upon assignment, typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Program Administration Assistance
- Project Research

- Corresponding with applicants or grantees by phone, email, or messaging via database
- Database work including data entry, updates, and reporting

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: - College coursework and experience related to Business/Public Administration and related majors.
Education: - Must be currently enrolled in six (6) units or more towards an Associates, Bachelor's, or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to Business/Public Administration or in a related major.
Experience: - Previous internships for community programs, local government, or other fields related to the area of assignment is desirable.
Licensure or Certificate: - Possession of, or ability to obtain by the time of appointment an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTSRequires the mobility and manual dexterity to work in a standard office environment, use standard office equipment; speech and hearing to communicate in person and by telephone; vision to read handwritten and printed materials and a computer screen; strength and agility to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds; emotional and psychological capability to work alone, concentrate, or have frequent public and/or coworker contact.
