    Legal Assistant - General Counsel's Office - Contracts/Personnel

    Department of Revenue

    HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

    This position provides administrative support for the attorneys in the Contracts/Personnel section of the General Counsel's Office. The position is responsible for assisting attorney's processing department contracts and memorandum of understandings, sunshine law requests, subpoenas, candidate affidavit filings and providing general legal administrative support. The individual will be responsible for maintaining cases and records in the Case Tracker System as well as processing the candidate affidavit's electronic filings. This position also serves as a backup for other legal areas of the office as well as ordering supplies.

    DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

    • Prepare and process legal documents for attorneys
    • Enter and track documents through the Case Tracker and Concord
    • Process and monitor the department's response for contracts, sunshine law requests, subpoenas and other legal document inquiries to ensure compliance with deadlines
    • Other duties as assigned including handling phone calls and processing mail

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge of basic office applications such as Microsoft Office Suite

    • Ability to self-organize work assignments and multi-task
    • 1-3 years of administrative office experience and a high school diploma or certificate of equivalency
