Current vacancy is with the Health & Human Services Agency located in Visalia.
The anticipated life of the list is six months.Typical Duties- Provide direct field-based, telehealth (telephone or video), and office-based crisis evaluation, support, de-escalation, and safety-planning to those experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, a Behavioral Health related crisis.
- Provide comprehensive rehabilitative skill-building services to high-risk clients with a focus on crisis prevention, de-escalation, and safety-planning for individuals, and as needed as clinically appropriate, in a group setting and/or involving support persons.
- Manage a caseload as a secondary coordinator for those at high risk.
- Meet with clients primarily at the location where they are experiencing a crisis or need support to prevent a Behavioral Health crisis, which may include but is not limited to a client’s home, school, or workplace, in the community, at clinics, hospitals, as client is leaving correctional facilities, other treatment facilities, and unhoused habitations.
- Assist with use of screening and assessment tools at the paraprofessional level to identify biopsychosocial determinants of health impacting the client’s health and general mental well-being.

Minimum QualificationsMinimum qualifications are used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license which are required and equivalent to the following.
Education: - Bachelor’s degree in social work or closely related field.
Education Equivalency: - Caseload management experience equivalent to the level of a Social Services Worker III may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge of: - Social aspects and characteristics of mental and emotional disturbances and substance abuse.
- Dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
- Interviewing and counseling methods and techniques.
- Community resources available to assist clients.
- Components of safety plans and their development and implementation.
Skill/Ability to: - Work and communicate effectively with people of various education and socioeconomic backgrounds by respecting beliefs, interpersonal styles and behaviors of both clients and co-workers.
- Operate contemporary office equipment inclusive of computer, keyboard, and all applicable electronic equipment.
- Complete multiple priority projects with strict deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information. Assess and make referrals concerning family situations involving suspected neglect or child abuse.
- Read, interpret, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures about social service programs.
License or Certificate: - Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
DESIRABLE EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Knowledge of: - Youth and adult developmental stages and disabilities or dysfunction.
- Trauma-informed care.
- Culturally responsive care.
- Administering Naloxone.

Limit of 300 hours.
Sick Leave Accrual: 12 days per year with unlimited accumulation, 60 hours of which may be used toward family sick leave.
