    This role is accountable for dynamic project planning including the analysis, planning, execution, and successful completion of engineering/architectural projects through collaborating with a diverse network of designers, consultants, vendors, state agencies and other stakeholders to provide excellent customer service every time.

    This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC) supporting the Project Management Unit within the Design and Construction Team.     • Prioritize excellent customer service for a wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public with focus on delivering targeted results that improve the overall occupancy experience, long-term building integrity, and site reliability.
    • Achieve successful completion of multiple projects by working closely with internal teams, state agency representatives, and contractors to manage the scope, schedule, and budget of projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
    • Facilitate all aspects of design development by coordinating with stakeholders, such as internal teams, state agencies, consulting firms, and construction contractors.
    • Manage multiple state-owned projects throughout the planning, design, and construction phases. (Projects managed are typically multi-year and multi-faceted as well as the largest in terms of size, scope, complexity, and impact on the State.)
    • Responsible for project planning, which may include developing project plans and timelines.
    • Develop accurate, comprehensive, and transparent construction bid documents through collaboration with state agencies, internal teams, and consultants.
    • Ensure compliance with policy and guidelines including but not limited to those regarding design, procurement, proposals, bidding, consultant selection and scopes of work.
    • Travel to job sites regularly and consult with agency staff, public officials, architects, engineers, surveyors, and contractors regarding new construction and maintenance and repair projects.


    • Ability to communicate, collaborate and lead with integrity in a manner that inspires trust and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
    • Working knowledge of the principles and concepts of engineering, architecture, construction, and/or project management, including occupational hazards and safety precautions.
    • Bachelor of Science in engineering, architecture, construction, or related field. (Substitutions may apply.)
    • Knowledge of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) industry standards, RSMeans cost data, and construction related codes and design guidelines.
    • Ability to accurately review, revise, resolve, verify, and approve project drawings, specifications, contractor submittals, pay applications, change orders, requests for information, substantial completion, and warranty items related to CI projects.
    • Excellent time management, organizational, planning, and communication skills.
    • Excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, conflict management, and critical thinking skills.
    • OSHA 10 and/or 30 certification, but FMDC can provide if needed.
    • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.

Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Office of Administration will not sponsor applicants for work visas. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    *This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather and working on uneven or elevated surfaces. This list is not all inclusive, but a general representation of duties that may be encountered in this position, however other duties may be assigned contingent upon business needs. Please note, this position is considered a “Category 0” under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the incumbent will not normally receive overtime compensation except in unusual circumstances as determined by appointing authorities.
