Graphic Designer - Extra-Help (Part-time) to support citywide communication and design needs on an as-needed basis. If you have a strong eye for design, proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, and enjoy producing creative, professional visual work for public-facing materials, this is a great opportunity to contribute your skills to meaningful projects and gain work experience! Perfect for an experienced designer looking for temporary part-time employment with opportunities to build a portfolio.
 This is a temporary part-time “extra help" at-will position, and work hours range from 10 to 20 hours per week. This position is located at City Hall and requires on-site work. Remote work is not approved for this position . What You’ll DoWorking under the direction of the Graphics Supervisor, you will create a variety of print and digital design products used throughout the organization and the City. This includes supporting campaigns, events, presentations, and public information efforts.
Examples of work include:
- Designing brochures, posters, banners, logos, flyers, maps, and infographics for publication or public distribution
 - Creating graphics for web and social media platforms
 - Making website content updates and edits using approved templates
 - Editing and preparing fillable forms, charts, and presentation materials
 - Formatting marketing and promotional pieces for citywide programs
 - Performing minor photography or photo editing as needed
 - Preparing final press-ready files using Adobe software on a Mac platform
 - Working with the Digital Publishing team on print production requests
 
Who We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone who brings both technical proficiency and design skills with a creative eye.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be proficient on the Mac platform using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
 - Have experience producing clean, professional layout and graphic work for publication or online use
 - Work efficiently under supervision while meeting deadlines and design expectations
 - Show attention to typography, hierarchy, color, and brand consistency
 - Demonstrate collaborative communication with internal clients and reviewers
 - Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, CivicPlus, and Microsoft Office products
 
Experience and Qualifications for Success! A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to completion of high school, supplemented by college-level courses or a certificate in graphic design or computer graphics, with proficiency in Adobe design software. A college degree in graphic design is highly desirable .
Required knowledge: Mac Platform, Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
 Highly Desirable : Experience in Adobe Acrobat Pro, CivicPlus, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
