Why you’ll love this position:Why you’ll love this position: The Missouri Department of Mental Health at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is seeking a positive, energetic, and caring Therapeutic Services Worker to join one of our innovative interdisciplinary treatment teams. The role involves providing care to mentally ill forensic clients in a high security setting. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery- based environment. This entry level position supports professional or higher-level positions in the preparation and execution of planned client activities across various therapeutic areas, including recreational, occupational, physical, music and related therapies. Employees at this level will develop proficiency in activity techniques and their therapeutic applications to help clients improve social skills, foster responsibility, build initiative, address challenges, experience personal satisfaction and better adapt to real-life situations
Knowledge of general methods of preparing for and conducting planned sessions of group activities. Ability to learn the basic principles and methods of recreational, music, and other related therapeutic activities, and their application to the treatment of persons with mental illness and/or developmental or physical disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
0-1 year of work experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
