Job Location: This position will be located at 471 Siemers Drive, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Telecommuting will be considered. In both instances, applicants must reside within Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop regions C, E, G, or I.

This is a part time position in the onsite wastewater program. - Review onsite wastewater construction permit applications for completion and conformance to state standards.
- Conduct onsite wastewater construction site visits, issue construction permits, conduct final inspections, and related certificates/paperwork in accordance with state standards.
- Provide onsite wastewater technical assistance to professionals and stakeholders.
- Assist with training other Environmental Health Specialists as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Public Health, or other applicable field of study (substitutions for experience will be considered.
- Three or more years of environmental health experience in onsite wastewater
- Understanding of onsite wastewater treatment laws, rules, systems, system components, engineering, and environmental factors that affect wastewater treatment and dispersal.
- Ability to travel statewide, including occasional overnight stays. Valid driver's license required.
- Moderate physical effort and mobility is required, i.e. driving vehicles, negotiating outdoor terrain, walking/standing for hours at a time.
- Analytical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to communicate clearly, appropriately, and effectively; attention to detail.
