    Summary

    The City of Camas is seeking an Assistant Finance Director. This is an exempt, non-represented position and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental, and vision.  Retirement benefits are provided through Washington State Retirement System.  Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, and accrued PTO.

    Job Description

    This position will report to the Finance Director and is responsible for managing and supervising the operations of the accounts receivable (including utility billing), accounts payable, payroll, and procurement in the Finance Department; participates in budgeting and treasury management; and responsible for providing highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Finance Director and City departments, and will act in the capacity of the Finance Director in their absence.

    Job Requirements

    The ideal candidate shall possess:

    • Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration with continuing education in finance, accounting, and information technology
    • Master’s degree and/or Certified Public Accountant credential is highly desirable
    • Five years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or financial management experience
    • Two years of proven management responsibility/leadership capabilities and financial reporting preparation
    • Governmental accounting experience is required
    • Experience with utility billing, payroll and ACFR reporting preferred
