    Job Description

    The MO Medicaid Audit & Compliance Unit has an opening for a Benefit Program Specialist within the MMAC Provider Enrollment Unit located in Cole County.

    Semi-monthly salary: $1,629.51

    Annual salary: $39,108.16

    Job Location: This position is located at 3418 Knipp Dr, Suite F, Jefferson City, MO.

    The Department of Social Services partners with families and communities to protect children, rehabilitate youth and move families to self-sufficiency so that Missourians can lead safe, healthy and productive lives.

    Why you’ll love this position: This position is responsible for enrolling providers to ensure MO HealthNet participants have access to quality healthcare providers. The MMAC-PEU Unit is a fast paced and challenging unit with opportunities for advancement. The person in this position will work independently within this supportive and hard-working team environment. You will respond to non-routine inquiries and requests from providers and other agencies.

    • Review and process new, re-enrolling, and revalidating provider applications to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
    • Enter and update provider information accurately into online data entry systems.
    • Communicate with providers via email, mail, and occasionally by phone.
    • Locate background information currently in enrollment files, in the electronic filing system, or from attachments to applications.
    • Research, review, and make decisions about complex correspondence received from providers or others and must be able to explain in detail what information is needed.
    • Process updates to provider information regarding address changes, tax ID changes, change of ownership, name change, etc.
    • Enter and update provider information accurately into online data entry systems.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Attention to detail is essential. Clear, accurate, written and verbal communication is important, along with a desire to provide excellent customer service. Experience with eMMIS, Microsoft Office, and data entry a bonus. Must be able to work in a team setting with positivity and a professional demeanor.
