Under general supervision of the Criminal Investigations Supervisor, the primary responsibility of this Police Administrative Support position is to perform various administrative and technical support for the Violent Crimes Against Women Unit (VCAWU). This position is funded through the Governor's Office of Children, Youth and Families STOP Grant and remains available at PVPD as long as funding is maintained. This is a grant funded position renewed every 3 years and is up for renewal in October of 2020. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: This position provides general office support including filing, data entry, word processing, answering phones, preparing and maintaining various correspondence and reports. Collects and inputs statistical information pertinent to the VCAWU, creates and maintains databases working with spreadsheets to generate assigned reports. Assists with preparing Power Point presentations and other training and conference materials. Prepares and tracks all areas of purchasing including ordering of supplies, generating requisitions and processing of purchase orders. Oversees all aspects of the Unit's e-mail record retention and disposition program including hardcopy and electronic filing of records. Reviews daily supervisor logs for service calls, creates case files for VCAWU Detective and Community Services Officer's follow-up or investigation.
