Sedgwick County is home to a number of industries, the most notable of which are aviation-related and have earned the community the title of "Air Capital of the World." Combined, Cessna, Raytheon, and Bombardier Aerospace supply more than half of the world's general aviation and military aircraft. And, the Boeing Company produces two-thirds of the world's commercial airliners. Other industries located in Sedgwick County include Koch Industries, The Coleman Company, Vulcan Chemicals, Via Christi Regional Medical Center, and Wesley Medical Center. Since 1954, McConnell Air Force Base has been a vital part of the Wichita community. McConnell AFB is home to the 22nd Air Refueling Wing of the Air Mobility Command, the 931st Air Refueling Group of the Air Force Reserve and 184th Air Refueling Wing of the Kansas Air National Guard.
