The Town of Breckenridge is located 80 miles west of Denver in the heart of Colorado Ski Country. In addition to winter skiing, the Town is frequented in summer and shoulder seasons by hikers, bikers, boaters, campers, rafters, etc. who enjoy the wide variety of mountain activities available in the local area. Breckenridge hosts major events several times a year...some related to winter sport activities while others are concerts, parades, festivals, etc. offering a wide variety of activities year round for visitors. Breckenridge offers a high quality of life for families. It is a small community with a "real" population base of 2000 residents that grows during busy periods to up to 25,000 visitors. Summit County has a permanent population base of approximately 15,000 residents. Residents enjoy the amenities offered by a high quality resort area while being within a one hour drive to life in "big city", Denver. The Town hires for typical government positions that include: Administration, Finance, Police, Public Works, Engineering, Community Development, Recreation Center, Ice Rink, Golf Course, and our events center. The Town has 150 full-time employees with another 300 or so part-time or seasonal depending on the time of year.
