The Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District (CVMVCD) has served the Valley residents and tourists since 1928. Our mission: Reduce the risk of disease from mosquitoes and other vectors for residents and visitors. Examples of services available to all residents of the Coachella Valley are community educational programs, courtesy property inspections for current or potential vector problems, information and advice on prevention and control of vectors, mosquito-borne encephalitis surveillance program, and eye gnat traps on golf courses and in agricultural areas. CVMVCD is the largest special district for vector control in California covering 2,400 square miles. The Coachella Valley has affordable housing and is world renowned for its recreational facilities such as golf and tennis.
