KCCD was founded in 2001 as a non-profit faith-based organization with a vision to serve as a bridge between the Asian American community and the greater community at large in connecting and creating private and public collaborations both locally in Southern California as well as on a national level. Our mission has been to maximize the capacity of Korean and Asian American faith-based organizations and other community non-profits to remove the cultural, language and economic barriers by increasing their access to resources and funds in order to assist low income individuals and revitalize neighborhoods. KCCD initiated programs include Capacity Building Training and Technical Assistance, Homeownership & Financial Literacy, Job Training & Placement, Youth, Marriage & Family Strengthening, and Research Institute. KCCD has worked with various agencies, partners, and funders. A partial list includes the White House Initiative on Asian American & Pacific Islanders, Freddie Mac, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of HHS, Los Angeles Housing Department, Countrywide, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and United Way.
