Niagara Falls proximity to the metropolitan areas of New York City and Toronto make the City accessible to more than 100 million people within a day's drive. The Falls provides tremendous tourism and economic opportunities. The American Falls is 182 feet high with about 700,000 gallons of water flowing over it per second.

The City is approximately 16 square miles with a population of approximately 55,000. It is 23 miles northwest of the City of Buffalo and one of the principal ports of entry into Canada. The City is in the process of a major redevelopment of its downtown area and is formulating a master plan to enhance tourism and recreational opportunities.
