Job Summary
Seeking a professional, VA DCJS licensed Armed Security Officer to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to provide a safe and secure environment. You will patrol assigned premises; protect assets, staff, and the general public; deter any illegal or inappropriate activity; respond to emergencies and summon proper authorities as required. The ideal candidate has experience with public safety and security.
Responsibilities- Patrol the premises and maintain a high level of visibility.
- Monitor entrances and exits to ensure guests, and patrons access the site in accordance with policies.
- Remove trespassers when necessary.
- Respond to inquiries from general public.
- Respond to reports of suspicious activity.
- Complete daily activity reports and document any incidents.
- Previous experience as a Security Guard or in a similar position is preferred
- Valid VA Department of Criminal Justice armed security registration required
- High school diploma/GED
- Strong understanding of public safety and security procedures
- Strong written communication skills and report writing ability
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
