    Position Description
    This position is responsible for provision of basic nursing care and services which are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse or physician. Work is performed under usual clinic conditions; has a high degree of contact with patients and other clinic personnel.

    Major/Essential Functions
    • Communicates patient data using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to support decision-making to improve patient care.
    • Assists in determining the physical and mental health status, needs, and preferences of culturally, ethnically, and socially diverse patients and their families
    • Reports data, identifies and reports alterations in patient responses to assist in identifying problems and formulating goals/outcomes.
    • Participates in emergency preparedness drills in the department.
    • Attends nursing staff meetings.
    • Completes Annual Nursing Core Competency Training and Skills Fair.
    • Take vital signs and measurements.
    • Assist with exams and procedures, and document intervention in EMR.
    • Sterilizes and disinfects medical equipment and instruments as directed by Nurse Manager.
    • Prepares necessary equipment and instruments for examinations, treatments and procedures as directed.
    • Maintains inventory and cleanliness of supplies in examination/treatment rooms.


    Required Qualifications
    Education: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
    License/Certification/ Experience: Completion of a nursing assistant training course or six months experience as a nursing assistant.
