Sheriff's Licensed Behavioral Health Program Manager I*. Sheriff's Licensed Behavioral Health Program Managers I* are responsible for managing a key program component and assisting in planning and organizing a comprehensive behavioral health program with behavioral health service providers; and overseeing professional and administrative staff and processes in adult correctional facilities.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is establishing an internal Behavioral Health Services Program within its adult correctional facilities to maintain ongoing responsibility for mental health and healthcare services. This transition will support continuity of care for the incarcerated population through integrated services and early intervention, using an ongoing collaborative, multidisciplinary approach focused on improved health outcomes.

Summary of Benefits Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a credit check and medical exam, which may include drug and/or TB testing. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent U.S. resident.
Background: Candidates must not have been convicted of a felony and must successfully pass an extensive background investigation which includes a fingerprint check and polygraph examination.
Travel: Travel throughout the County will be required. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel between Sheriff's detention facilities as needed.

Minimum Requirements LICENSE: Must be licensed in the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Applicants must indicate license number and expiration date on the Supplemental Questionnaire. A copy of license is required upon appointment.
-- AND-- EDUCATION: A completed bachelor’s degree or higher in Behavioral/Social Science, Health/Human Services, Public/Business Administration, or closely related field.
Note: Qualifying degree
must have been completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
-- AND-- EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent
professional-level administrative and/or supervisory experience which includes responsibility in one or more of the following areas: development of programs; compliance/quality management; data/legislative analysis; contract procurement and monitoring; or budget development and oversight.
-OR- Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience providing mental health services to a seriously mentally ill population or in a correctional setting.
Desired QualificationsApplicants with experience working with incarcerated populations, particularly in an adult correctional facility, are strongly encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a public behavioral health department, agency or program.
- Experience with project planning, project management, and data analysis.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Experience planning, implementing, supporting or evaluating behavioral health programs.

Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
