    Position available with the Water Department, Wastewater Treatment Plant
    Location: 7300 Hawthorne Road
    Pay: $26.10-$39.82 per hour

    Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll do
    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical motors, controls, switchgear, transformers, and substations to maintain continuous plant operations
    • Perform electrical work on systems ranging from 480 volts up to 13,200 volts, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with standards
    • Coordinate closely with Instrumentation and Control Technicians, Mechanics, and Contractors to resolve electrical and process control system issues
    • Order replacement parts and complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability
    • Read, interpret, and create electrical drawings and schematics to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and future work

    Qualifications

    REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of progressively responsible experience performing routine and moderately complex electrical maintenance and repair work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. May be required to possess a valid MO Class A, B, or C CDL prior to the end of the probationary period as determined by the department. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. Preference given to applicants that are electricians with experience working with medium voltage, motor controls, and trained on VFD and DC controls. A Master Electrician license is highly desirable.
