    Water Department - Stormwater Repair Division
    Location: 1800 Prospect
    Pay: $22.61-$34.48 per hour

    Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll do
    • Operate trucks, tractors, and other heavy-duty construction and cleaning equipment to install, repair, replace, clean, and maintain stormwater structures,
    • Operate excavators to dig deep trenches for the installation of stormwater mains.
    • Transport and install heavy precast concrete stormwater boxes to maintain and upgrade stormwater systems.
    • Operate backhoes to excavate deep ditches for the repair, installation, and replacement of stormwater mains.
    • Dig and backfill ditches and lay pipe for stormwater lines and mains.
    • Operate tractor-trailers to transport heavy equipment using heavy-duty transport trailers.
    • Operate high loaders with capacities of 2½ cubic yards.
    • Participate in snow plowing and snow removal operations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRES:
    • 2 years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation of heavy and complex construction and maintenance equipment.
    • Must possess a valid state -issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
    • May be required to possess a valid MO Class A, B, or C CDL prior to the end of the employee's probationary period as determined by the department.
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
