    Job Summary

    To serve as the Assistant Module Lead for the Academic Advising Systems module in support of the Common Management System (CMS) Student Administration. This position is responsible for maintaining stable, efficient, and accurate Advising and E-Advising systems (such as Degree Planner and EAB) to fulfill the university's student success goals and initiatives. Duties include general module support and processing; project implementation support; in depth system testing, analysis, and troubleshooting; issue triage; security maintenance; and end user documentation and training. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Module Support: Assists with systems implementation, testing, set up, data validation, configuration, and maintenance. Coordinates Academic Advising related processing such as degree clearing, degree audit, and timely graduation. Performs troubleshooting and quality control assurance. Perform data analysis and cleanup of reporting files associated with Student Records.
    • Module Testing and Coordination: Test and validate updates and fixes to Academic Advising and Student Records student information systems such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and third-party products.
    • Security, Documentation/Training, and Communications: Coordinates and maintains security access to the Student Administration System, CS-Link, and third-party systems. Documents business processes. Creates and delivers training courses. Primary contact for user inquiries.

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
    • Hiring Rate: The hiring rate for this position is $5,787 (Step 1) per month .
    • CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,787 (Step 1) - $8,430 (Step 20) per month.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of student information systems and academic advising or student records, with a functional understanding of database structures, cloud-based information systems, and data extraction, complemented by excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex system issues. They demonstrate the ability to analyze data and situations, make accurate recommendations, and support the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, and programs while accurately interpreting and applying academic and administrative policies. Highly organized and self-directed, the candidate can manage multiple priorities independently and effectively use tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Camtasia Studio, Visio, and ServiceNow. They excel at analyzing user needs and translating them into complex business rules, quickly learning new systems and feature updates, and producing clear communications, tutorials, and technical documentation for campus users. With proven technical writing, training, and presentation experience, the candidate communicates clearly and professionally, builds strong working relationships across a diverse university community, treats all customers with dignity and respect, maintains a safe work environment, documents roles and responsibilities to ensure operational continuity, and upholds data quality, usability, and integrity through approved processes and testing procedures.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience

    • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field required.

    • Two years of related experience preferred.

    Physical Summary

    Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects (10 pounds or less).

    Additional Information
