    The Position

    Contra Costa County is recruiting to fill several vacancies and establish an eligible list for Administrative Services Assistant II. This position performs administrative staff and administrative technical work in an operating department, conducts studies of methods and procedures relating to departmental program and management operations, and does related work as required.

    While Administrative Services Assistant II is a county-wide position, there are currently four (4 vacancies throughout Contra Costa County. One (1) vacancy in the Animal Services Department, one (1) vacancy in Public Works, one (1) vacancy in the Office of the Sheriff, and one (1) vacancy in the Health Services IT.

    The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six months.

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator’s license will be accepted during the application process.

    Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration or public administration or a closely related field.

    Experience: Eighteen (18) months of full-time experience or its equivalent in an administrative staff position performing administrative, budgetary or personnel analysis.

    Substitution for Education: Successful completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university which included at least one three semester unit course in each of the following areas: (1) English Composition (2) Business or public administration, political science or government (3) Mathematics or Statistics and (4) Psychology or behavioral science ; and two years full time experience or its equivalent in an administrative or staff capacity performing administrative, personnel or budgetary analysis which included the research, analysis and preparation of written reports; or an acceptable combination of qualifying experience beyond the two-year minimum education requirement may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree .

    Substitution for Academic Major Experience: 1.) One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may be substituted for the required academic major; 2) Possession of a Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field may be substituted for academic major or six (6) months of the required experience.

    Desirable Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics or closely related field.
    • Experience in data analysis and data-driven decision-making.
    • Experience with data confidentiality.
    • Experience working with community groups.
    • Experience working in environments bound by local, state and federal guidelines, rules, and regulations.
    • PACE Certification.
    • Experience in IT environments.
    • Event planning experience.
    • Safety Coordinator experience.


    Selection Process

    1. Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application; applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of therecruitment process.
    2. Online Multiple-Choice Test: Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online test. You will need access to a computer with a reliable internet connection to participate in the assessment. This multiple-choice test will assess candidates on the required competencies and technical skills.

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
