    Performs unskilled and semi-skilled manual work involving the cleaning and maintenance of City parking facilities including cleaning windows, bathrooms, walls, offices, elevators, etc. Empties trash containers and replaces plastic liners. Performs a variety of tasks involving significant physical effort. Operates power tools and mechanical cleaning equipment. Performs maintenance tasks utilizing equipment requiring some manipulative skills.

    This position entails working under challenging conditions, including exposure to environmental hazards such as excessive noise, vehicle exhaust, and inclement weather. The role requires prolonged physical exertion (standing/walking) within active, high-traffic areas featuring restricted visibility and reversing vehicles. The employee must maintain high situational awareness and comply with all safety regulations, including wearing required high-visibility apparel and personal protective equipment (PPE) to manage risks of slips, trips, and falls.

    Work Schedule and Location : Average hours vary up to 30 hours per week, however, there is no weekly guarantee. Weekend, nights, and holiday work required, must be flexible to work various schedules. Schedule is subject to change based on events & division needs. Work locations include various parking garages and lots in and around Downtown Orlando.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Some experience in building/industrial cleaning, maintenance, or facilities work required; background in building repair and/or construction is preferred . Valid Florida driver license required.

    Candidate must also have the ability to:
    • Read, write, and follow instructions.
    • Work without close supervision once tasks are learned.
    • Walk and stand for extended periods, often under hot and humid environmental conditions.
    • Climb stairs and use ladders.
    • Lift 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
    • Operate pressure washer, golf-cart, vehicle, lawnmower, and power tools.


    THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
