    DESCRIPTION

    This recruitment is a TRANSFER/PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY open to CURRENT City of Long Beach employees with classified status as an Administrative Analyst ONLY.

    The all new for FY 26 Department of Energy & Environmental Services (EES) Oil Operations Bureau, Planning & Unit Operations Division has an immediate opening for a classified, Administrative Analyst III. EES is a newly integrated department with four bureaus: Administrative Services, Collections & Customer Services, Materials Management, and Oil Operations. The Department’s core services are focused on providing solid waste management, organic materials, and recycling/waste diversion services to the City of Long Beach, as well as managing oil properties and fields in Long Beach and the surrounding areas.

    This position within the Planning and Unit Operations Division is to support the Oil Operations Bureau. The Administrative Analyst III will play a critical role in preparing management reports on production, cost, profit, and other key performance measures. Following the merger of Utilities and Gas, the Oil Operations Bureau experienced a reduction in dedicated Administrative Analyst support.

    T he position will report to the EES Administration Headquarters located 301 E. Ocean Boulevard in the Long Beach Westin Hotel complex. Hybrid work schedule is available.

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

    Under direction, the Administrative Analyst III will:
    • Assist the Planning and Unit Operations Division in preparing comprehensive management reports, including production, cost, profit, and other key performance metrics.
    • Coordinate with CRC on the annual reserves report for submission to the Energy Commission and support development of the Subsidence Budget.
    • Analyze and interpret statistical production and cost data to establish cost analysis parameters and recommend actionable insights.
    • Collaborate with field contractors to implement cost analysis findings and operational improvements.
    • Prepare requisitions, develop Requests for Quotes (RFQs), and provide oversight and evaluation of RFQ-related studies.
    • Coordinate with CRC and the Port of Long Beach to update and maintain oil operating area data within the Harbor District.

    • This recruitment is a transfer opportunity and is open to current, City of Long Beach employees with permanent classified status as an Administrative Analyst, or employees with former status as a permanent, classified Administrative Analyst.
