The JobArrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a
Director of Support Services*. This professional-level operational management position is responsible for overseeing multiple hospital support service departments, including Environmental Services and Facilities Management, with oversight of functions such as housekeeping, maintenance, construction, biomedical equipment, central plant operations, and grounds.
The
Director of Support Services* ensures efficient daily operations, regulatory compliance, and the maintenance of a safe, sanitary, and fully functional environment that supports high-quality patient care. Serving as the primary operational lead, this role directs activities through subordinate managers to coordinate resources, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement across service areas. The position acts as a key liaison between executive leadership and department managers, translating organizational priorities into effective operational practices and ensuring alignment with hospital standards, strategic goals, and regulatory requirements.
Other duties will also include: - Develop and implement operational plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
- Oversee preventive maintenance and capital improvement projects.
- Monitor performance metrics and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinate construction, renovation, and space planning activities.
- Manage budgets, inventory, and resource allocation.
- Support regulatory surveys, audits, and corrective actions.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues and service disruptions.
- Promote staff training, safety practices, and high service standards.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles). EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare Administration, Public/Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
Substitution: An additional four (4) years of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education.
-AND- EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of progressive management experience in a large healthcare or complex institutional setting overseeing support services operations such as Environmental Services, Facilities Maintenance, Plant Operations, or related functional areas. Experience must include at least two (2) years of full-scope management experience over professional staff in a healthcare environment.

- Strong knowledge of environmental services, facilities management, and hospital support operations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, clinical staff, and external partners.
- Experience managing budgets, analyzing financial data, and ensuring fiscal accountability.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies, operational challenges, and changing priorities.
