What you'll do
- Perform technical reviews to ensure all required special inspections for assigned projects are completed and meet code requirements, supporting safe and compliant construction.
- Manage and submit all paperwork from Special Inspection agencies for daily inspections to the city, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Verify that inspectors are properly certified and qualified for the inspections being performed, maintaining program integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Confirm that site conditions align with inspectors' observations and that materials come from approved fabricators or were properly inspected during fabrication.
- Hold preconstruction meetings prior to permit issuance to review and resolve all Special Inspection requirements before work begins.
- Assist in maintaining a current list of qualified inspectors and agencies, witness smoke control testing on job sites, and perform site visits to verify ongoing compliance.

Qualifications
REQUIRES - An accredited Bachelor's degree and 4 years professional experience in economic or community development work, planning, building codes administration, engineering, architecture, or neighborhood development programs;
- OR Master's degree in economics, sociology, multi-disciplinary social science or urban affairs, urban planning, public or business administration, engineering, architecture and 2 years professional experience in economic or community development work, planning, building codes administration, engineering, architecture, or neighborhood development programs;
- OR high school graduation and 8 years of professional experience in economic or community development work, planning, building codes administration, engineering, architecture, or neighborhood development programs.
