What you'll do
- Directs daily remittance operations, workflows, staff functions, and division performance.
- Oversees remittance payment processing operations, banking relationships, payment processors, and related financial service functions to support accurate and efficient payment processing.
- Develops, implements, and monitors remittance policies, operational procedures, internal controls, and QA/QC processes to support compliance and operational consistency.
- Reviews and approves complex remittance matters, including escalated payment research requests, high-dollar refund approvals, operational exceptions, and related issue resolution efforts.
- Collaborates with Information Technology staff and other departments regarding remittance systems, operational issues, process improvements, testing efforts, and system enhancements.

- Remittance staff understand expectations, perform consistently, and are supported through clear workflows and guidance.
- Escalated payment issues and exceptions are resolved efficiently with minimal downstream impact.
- Internal controls and QA/QC processes are followed, monitored, and continuously improved.
- System changes and enhancements are implemented smoothly through effective cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications
REQUIRES: - An accredited Master's in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, organizational/development psychology, project management, geography and 1 year (OR an accredited Bachelor's and 3 years) of professional experience in corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting planning, project/program management, or geographical information systems analytics.
- Preference given to candidates with two (2) years of experience managing staff and cash handling experience.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
