Summary
Provide support to law enforcement officers and district personnel by performing dispatcher duties to ensure the safety and security of students and employees of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS). Perform all dispatcher duties for the Department of Safety and Security. Receive and dispatch field units via radios and/or telephone systems. Monitor camera systems within the school system, including 800 and 400 radios used by officers and schools. Operate communication systems including computers, radios, and telephones. Determine and assign the level of priority of the call and enter the data into system for dispatch purposes. Report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. Notify on-call personnel of call-outs and assignments. Notify designated personnel (i.e. reunification team) responsible at each school for catastrophic emergencies via Lotus Notes e-mail, if needed.
