    Job DetailsJob Location: Marriott Norfolk Waterside, Norfolk, VA - Norfolk, VA 23510Salary Range: $18.00 - $18.00 HourlyPOSITION: Loss PreventionDEPARTMENT: MaintenanceSUPERVISOR: Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer/Assistant General Manager/General ManagerPOSITION OVERVIEW The loss prevention agent patrols all areas of the property; assists guests with room access. Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm system, duress alarms, and fire life safety system. Lock property entrances when required. Conduct daily physical hazard inspections. Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required. Assist guests/employees during emergency situations. Notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents. Defuse guest/employee disturbances. Call for outside assistance if necessary. Complete incident reports to document all Security/Loss Prevention related incidents. Handle all interruptions and complaints. Resolve safety hazard situations. Escort any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation. Report to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts. Call for assistance using proper code responses. Complete a Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report. Maintain confidentiality of all Security/Loss Prevention and property reports/documents; release information only to authorized individuals. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Always maintain positive guest relations. Work to resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction and communicating effectively with guests as well as team members.Patrol all areas of the property.Maintain security of hotel key system; issue and receive keysEscort and witness cash handling as neededAssist in shipping and receiving operationsAssist guests with room accessMonitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm system, duress alarms, and fire life safety system.Lock property entrances and all conference space when required.Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required.Assist guests/employees during emergency situations.Notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents.Defuse guest/employee disturbances. Must act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.Responsible for knowing and abiding by all department, Commonwealth Lodging Management and hotel policies and procedures. As well as the brand standards, policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work EquivalentPrefer 1-2 years' experience in hospitality industry in similar position.Good understanding of the English language and communication skills both written and verbal.Previous guest/customer relations training preferred.Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and use of equipment and proper chemical handlingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds.Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 125 pounds.Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.Work environment – Guest Rooms, Guest and Service Corridors, Housekeeping Office.Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor settings, and around fumes and/or odor hazards, dust and/or mite hazards, biohazards and chemicals.Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for lengthy periods of time.Must be able to reach above head and shoulder height to perform job duties.This job description is not intended to provide a complete and comprehensive list of all job duties, requirements and responsibilities.
