    Security Patrol Officer

    The Security Patrol Officer is responsible for safeguarding people, property, and assets by identifying and mitigating potential threats, ensuring a safe and secure environment. Key duties include monitoring security systems, patrolling premises, and responding to emergencies in accordance with established protocols.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities

    1. Ensure the security and safety of the building and its occupants.
    2. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all emergency policies, procedures, and regulations, and effectively respond to incidents and emergency situations.
    3. Patrol the property or monitor assigned posts, promptly reporting suspicious activities and investigating incidents, including accidents and potential criminal activities.
    4. Prepare and submit detailed daily activity reports, logbook entries, and other relevant documentation as required by post assignment.
    5. Coordinate shift handovers by communicating effectively with the incoming security personnel.
    6. Communicate with Facility Service leadership regarding any issues or recommended procedural changes.
    7. Conduct hourly interior patrols as required.
    8. Provide a welcoming presence by greeting patients and visitors with eye contact and a smile.
    9. Adhere to the company's security policies and procedures.
    10. Perform vehicle patrols as assigned, ensuring coverage of designated areas at specified times.
    11. Identify any physical security issues and bring them to the attention of Facility Service leadership.
    12. Participate in after-action reviews.
    13. Assist with the evaluation and development of emergency response plans, as requested

    Other Duties

    1. Security Patrol Officers may be required to do further training at the request of the security supervisor or Facility Services leadership.
    2. Security Patrol Officers may be required to get the NC security certification.
    3. Security Patrol Officers may be required to perform duties outside of their normal security responsibilities.
    4. Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to apply various emergency policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating during shift handovers, providing detailed reports, and interacting with Facility Service leadership.
    • Proficiency in patrolling properties, conducting interior and exterior patrols, and monitoring security systems.
    • A strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines related to security operations.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative in addressing concerns and issues. Proficient with computer-based applications such as MS Office, Adobe, registries/medical databases, and electronic health record.

    Qualifications

    • Preferred security or law enforcement experience, such as working as a police officer or as a security officer.
    • Preferred guards to have a certification, such as defensive tactics.
    • Preferred guards to have NC certification from (PPSB)
