Summary

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Build positive relationships with drivers to best maximize retention levels, increase on time delivery percentages and achieve top-tier customer service.

- Manage high volume of calls from owner operator, lease purchase, and/or company drivers and prioritize calls.

- Communicate effectively and regularly with customers on issues, delays, etc.

- Receive and dispatch orders for pick-up and delivery.

- Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information.

- Ensure full compliance with administrative policies and federal and state regulatory compliance to mitigate safety risks and improve efficiency.

- Work one on one with the safety department on driver accidents, etc.

- Keep accurate details on drivers trailers, current trailer, dropped trailer, etc.

- Issue advances and comchecks to drivers.

- Report OSD to CSRs and/or claims department.

- Update precise in and out times at shippers and receivers for drivers.

- Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- College degree in related field preferred.

- Previous dispatch experience preferred.

- Knowledge of the Trucking Industry/Refrigerator Transportation a plus.

- Active listener with excellent communication skills.

- Must have sound judgment and critical thinking skills.

- Must be able to recognize when immediate action is necessary and to implement the required actions within a reasonable time.

PREFERRED SKILLS

- Adaptable

- Ability to manage high volume of calls and technology

- Respectful and professional demeanor.

- Strong time management skills.

- Ability to handle stress well.

Weekend Day Shift: Thursday thru Sunday (7 am until 5 pm)
