Responsibilities:
- Perform field inspections for rental housing program
- Read and examine plans and specifications when required
- Report violations and maintain files/records
- Perform other related duties as required
Knowledge & Skills:
- Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
- Ability to work with all levels of management; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently in rapidly changing environment, and function as group leader.
- Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele
- Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment
Education & Experience:
- TDLR Code Enforcement Officer II licensure required
- ICC International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) Certification a plus
- 1+ years of experience in security, enforcement, or compliance-related work including investigating allegations, conducting research and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts
- Experience in building, construction, or trades highly desired
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record required
