Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER for the NAS KEY WEST. Responsibilities You will plan and assign work to be accomplished by subordinates based on priorities and deadline selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. You will direct structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities that may include research and/ or large industrial complexes. You will direct combat of fire or rescue of personnel on board ships where conditions create very difficult and dangerous situations. You will direct crash-rescue and firefighting duties involving air traffic or support operations where hazardous conditions are such that the expectancy for fire is high and potential for becoming destructive is great. You will perform hazard and risk assessment techniques in completing initial incident analysis. You will direct rescue of personnel and a variety of first aid measures to alleviate further injury and prepare the victim(s) for transport to a medical facility. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Supervising and managing the firefighting operation of the assigned fire company at all emergency situation to which dispatched such as, however not limited to, wild land fires, emergencies of industrial buildings, schools, piers, docks, ships, and aircraft of all sizes and types; until' relieved by a senior officer; 2)Training firefighters in hose evolutions, rescue work, fire inspections, pre-fire planning, forcible entry, salvage and overhaul work, use of breathing apparatus; 3) Performing rescue operations including the administration of first aid. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I & II, Airport Firefighter, HazMat Technician, HazMat Incident Commander, Driver Operator Pumper, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector I (or First Responder Inspector), and Fire Instructor I, National Registry EMT. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
