Our extensive experience, connections, and deep expertise across different sectors, industries, and transportation modes, means we can be counted on for process excellence that will save time and money.SummaryCoordinates and dispatches drivers for the safe and timely conveyance of freight by assigning equipment, managing schedules, maintaining accurate records, and serving as the primary communication link between drivers and customers.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompiles and maintains a list of available drivers.Assigns trucks according to availability, purpose of trip, and freight requirements.Issues record sheets and all related paperwork to drivers.Troubleshoots issues and notifies appropriate parties of any changes or delays.Records time of departure, destination, cargo details, and expected time of return.Investigates overdue vehicles and follows up accordingly.Directs activities of drivers via two-way radio and other communication systems.Maintains heavy daily communication with drivers to ensure operational efficiency.Contacts customers to provide delivery updates, communicate changes, and ensure a high level of customer service.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
