Extended Coverage Dispatch Responsibilities
Provide directions to drivers to ensure safe and timely delivery of freight.
Communicate with drivers on an ongoing basis primarily via telephone and mobile communication messaging.
Exercise independent judgment to determine if situations need to be addressed immediately or forwarded to the driver's assigned driver manager to be addressed.
Provide ongoing feedback to drivers, both positive and negative.
Address service-related issues with drivers as needed as issues arise.
Report driver's conduct that could be potentially detrimental to the safety of the drivers or others.
Leave shift communication when necessary.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Operational Responsibilities
Provide check calls for each truck touched in AS/400.
Dispatch trucks electronically.
Provide verbal dispatch on all Beef loads, multiple pickups, and produce loads.
Check call trucks advising verbal dispatches are complete.
Read and respond to take appropriate action regarding all mobile communication messages.
Answer all incoming calls in a timely manner.
Read late pings and take appropriate action to ensure on-time delivery.
Enter IR service failures as needed.
Ensure drivers follow fuel solutions. Provide new solutions as needed.
Keep PTAs current.
Verify and issue unloading and late fees, and notify planning/CSR as needed.
Start and end home time status and shop status accurately and timely.
Block and open Fuel cards as needed.
Track/Trace/Report key accounts as assigned.
Review National Beef non-departed loads.
Answer customer emails.
Reefer Alert Responsibilities
Review reefer alert messages.
Properly investigate and address all alerts, even if it is a recurring alert.
Escalate alerts as needed.
Reefer alerts are a critical function of the job and if not monitored and addressed properly could lead to disciplinary action.
Safety and Compliance Responsibilities
Write up accident reports.
Write up OS&D reports.
Monitor entrance/exit gates.
This is an OVERNIGHT 12 hour shift.
