Job Responsibilities Responsible for the sanitation program for the entire facility.Makes safety and security inspections of all buildings and grounds.Coordinate vehicle inspections and routine maintenance.Corrects or reports any shortcomings or deficiencies in these areas.Assigns specific duties to subordinate officers to ensure cleaning of buildings, grounds, etc. and assists security staff on searches of inmates in the living areas, recreation areas and on special work details.Conducts formal counts, supervises and verifies the accuracy of scheduled counts.Make informal counts when required.Assists in special investigations and makes recommendations to supervisor.Evaluates officers' duty performance; instructs and counsels officers in required duty performance standards.Instruct and explain rules, regulations and procedures.Training Requirement Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and relevant experience.
