FIRE PROTECTION HELPERJOB DESCRIPTIONJob Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Learn by paying attention and participating with all that is being asked within all aspects of the fire sprinkler and fire alarm tradeAssist foreman and/or fitter with installation, service, and trouble-shooting of automatic fire sprinkler systems along with all its related equipment for fire alarm installation supportAssist foreman and/or fitter with installation of fire sprinkler or fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildingsLearn and use project drawings to accurately and entirely interpret and installation requirement details and layout as neededLearn to thread and groove pipe, cut hanger rods, frequently climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, layout, keep clean work area, and use appropriate equipment for any specific job such as tools, lifts, etc.Other duties as assignedExpectations: Believe In, Live, and Support Our Mission Statement, Core Values and Business Plan DailySafety FirstEnsure timely and complete submittal of JSAs, Toolbox Talks, Audit Forms, etc.Ensure timely and accurate Incident and Accident ReportingHold yourself accountable for all Safety InitiativesHold yourself accountable for Safe Driving of Company VehiclesEnsure awareness and support of Stop Work AuthorityComplete all Training Requirements - Safety, Certifications, etc.Submit accurate Timesheet - job numbers/names, OT and travel pay, completed on time, etc., support transition to Electronic timesheet submittalEnsure all required documents are complete, accurate and professional, with required signaturesEnsure proper Inventory Management - review, update, and approve packing slips - submitted timely, proper material managementEnsure proper Maintenance and care of equipment - trucks, lifts, tools, etc.Keep jobsites clean and organizedEnsure Production Efficiency - awareness of budget vs. actual labor hours and proactive communication with superintendentSupport and Ensure Adherence to Company SOPs - Purchase Orders, Change Orders, etc.Timeliness - at the job on time; attendance; communication with supervisor; paperworkEnsure Customer Satisfaction and respond to Customer Satisfaction Survey feedback improvement opportunitiesMaintain Quality Control i.e. reduce the need for return trips and warranty workMaintain a Professional appearanceCommunicate effectively and professionally within the department and with internal and external customersTeamwork - maintain positive interactions within your team, local office, etc.Actively Participate in required team meetingsAbility to work overtime, out of town or on-call as neededKnowledge: Basic Math and ReadingMinimum education of High School Diploma or EquivalentWork Experience: 1 year of experience as a fire sprinkler, fire alarm, or construction-related helper, preferredSkills and Competencies: Ability to take direction from upper managementMust have valid state driver's license and good driving recordSelf-motivated, Ambitious, Interactive, Communicative, Detail-oriented and OrganizedDemonstrate ability to accurately read measurements from tape or scales
