Fire Technician
Location: Rockville, MD
Compensation
- Hourly pay (based on experience)
- Potential quarterly bonuses
- Time-and-a-half pay for all hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am
- Paid 4-hour minimum at time-and-a-half for emergency calls
- Paid 4-hour minimum at double time for emergency calls on recognized holidays, in addition to 8 hours of holiday pay
Job Duties
- Apply knowledge of NFPA codes, manufacturer guidelines, and local fire codes.
- Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting.
- Identify and document NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed.
- Conduct fire marshal tests and inspections.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points.
- Minimum 3 years licensed driving experience.
- At least 2 years' experience inspecting restaurant fire suppression systems.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes.
- Ability to work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
- Comfortable working on ladders (612 ft) and lifts.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in confined spaces.
- Strong customer communication and documentation skills.
- Excellent attendance and organizational skills.
