Dispatcher
Full-time
Pay: Starting at $ 18.00 Hr.
Hours: 8 Hour shift Monday through Friday
The Lowcountry Regional Transit Authority proudly serves Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton, Hampton and Allendale counties. We operate 11daily commuter routes, 2 weekday fixed routes in Bluffton and Walterboro and one seasonal Hilton Head Island Trolley.
Responsible for:
- Dispatching of vehicle operators and equipment
- Coordinating with the public for same day transportation services
- Communicating with vehicle operators regarding directions, emergencies, vehicle incidents
- Public relations- ensuring safe, reliable, on time professional transit services are provided to the customer.
- Monitoring traffic reports and conditions
- Answering the telephone and providing route information.
- Documents no-shows, delays in service and driver no-shows
Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft word and Excel
- One to three years experience in transportation, dispatching or scheduling preferred
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
