Network Security Engineer
Performs advanced configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of the security of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) Child Support Division (CSD) networking devices. Provides technical expertise with Wide Area Networks (WANs) and wireless network hardware and software to support statewide operations. Work involves planning and coordinating with business units' technology requirements for new initiatives or for improving existing systems. Mentors, trains and reviews the work of others. Ability to provide on-call support, 24 hours per day/7 days per week, as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Years - Skills/Experience
5 - Maintains, administers, and monitors networking devices (Cisco ASAs, Palo Alto IPS, VPN concentrators) to ensure protection of the CSD network; Performs duties to mitigate network security threats.
5 - Provides highly complex Tier II-III support for VPN, Firewall/IPS and WAN/LAN network.
5 - Performs thorough audit of Firewall rules and configuration, PTP connections, VPN connections, and make/implement best practice.
3 - Develops and deploys a Network Security Baseline and other security controls.
3 - Performs network diagramming of Firewall, IPS, including connected devices and remote office connections.
3 - Documents all the Firewalls connections and rules.
3 - Researches available products, solutions, and emerging technologies and participates in efforts to review products and secure solutions; Investigates, recommends and implements new technologies, security enhancements and purchases
3 - Provides training and knowledge transfer to FTE staff on network devices.
3 - Skill in effectively communicating with all levels of customers/users within an organization
3 - Skill in giving and following technical instructions
3 - Skill in planning and organizing work to meet goals and complete multiple assignments without compromising accuracy
