Summary: Plans, organizes, manages, and provides training for Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises. Reviews established training objectives, lesson plans, training materials, and instructional methods, as directed by the Chief of Security or Deputy Chief of Security, prior to the beginning of assigned courses.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Training Instructor on all topics of security and other related matters that involve the Gaming Security Department.
  • Monitor all training records and assist the Security Training Manager and/or Director of Security in coordinating training to include conferences and seminars.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patrons and non-patrons within the Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises.
  • Review and evaluate training program for compliance with Tribal and governmental standards.
  • Present a positive image and maintain excellent communication skills, which shall include both oral and written.
  • Keeps abreast of current security techniques, methods, and procedures.
  • Identifies and recommends revisions to course content or instructional materials to the Security Training Manager and/or Director of Security as necessary to improve training curriculum effectiveness and quality.
  • Asserts control over all firearms, i.e. assignments, routine test and maintenance.
  • Accounts for equipment inventory and maintenance for assigned training programs.
  • Enforces firing safety regulations.
  • Analyzes difficulties of shooters during firing exercise and provides corrective assistance to individuals to improve their skills and confidence.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness to ensure that training objectives have been met and maintains records of each training class.
  • Communicates security status, updates, and actual or potential problems using established protocols.
  • Provide written and oral summaries to the Security Training Manager and/or Director of Security on a routine basis.
  • Must be available to travel to different facilities on a regular basis.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma Must have attended a recognized instructor development training course and keep certifications up to date.

Experience

Two years of instructor experience. Knowledge of security programs, operations and techniques including: firearm operations, use of force, civil liability, and appropriate techniques, tactics, and procedures.

Licenses/Certifications

MCN OPG Gaming License is required Key positions require knowledge and application of Title 31 reporting requirements.

Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check, drug test, and obtain gaming license as required.

Job Demands

Physical: Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, work at heights, work in confined spaces, crawl on knees, raise/reach arms overhead and work effectively whilst doing so. Must also be able to maneuver, bend down, pick up, and get in and out of a variety of on-site vehicles. Must be able to stand long periods of time and/or walk in excess of 1 mile per shift. Has ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs. frequently, lift 40 lbs and carry 50', carry 35 lbs a distance of 500' Push/pull/drag 150 lbs. 25', and run 8mph for 100yds.

Ability to maneuver in all areas of casino, frequent ascent/descent from bus stairs, travel to various on/off site venues, which may involve elevation changes in surfaces. Visual acuity to discern and examine text, graphics, color and symmetry. Speech to communicate clearly, express ideas and convey information in an understandable manner. Ability to hear for listening comprehension and to understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records and files.
