Reviews and analyzes Regional Correctional Services' Operations and makes recommendations to the Regional Correctional Services Administrator regarding proper utilization of manpower, standardization of procedures and security requirements, etc. Evaluates the effectiveness of controls designed to meet security requirements, such as escape, riot and civil disturbance plans; key control, tool control and inmate accountability systems; prisoner movements, Control Center operations, tower coverage, work details and all other operations relevant to institutional security. Responsible for redefining and implementing uniform training standards, expanding resources, and initiating Crisis Management Training (CMT) for institutions' Special Operations Response Team (SORT), Disturbance Control Team (DCT), Planning Section Team (PST), Crisis Support Team (CST), and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT). Participates in after-action reviews, internal institution investigations, institution threat assessments, institution's security assessments, etc. Assists in the preparation of manuals, bulletins, and memoranda for region-wide or individual application defining Bureau policies on correctional and security procedures.
