Position Overview The Traffic Control Technician is responsible for the safe and effective setup, maintenance, and removal of temporary traffic control systems on active job sites.This role plays a critical part in protecting workers, the traveling public, and ensuring compliance with all applicable traffic control regulations and standards.Traffic Control Setup & Operations Install, maintain, and remove traffic control devices including signs, cones, barricades, arrow boards, and message boardsDirect traffic using proper flagging techniques in accordance with MUTCD guidelinesAdjust traffic control setups as needed based on site conditions and supervisor directionSafety & Compliance Ensure all traffic control setups comply with federal, state, and local regulationsConduct daily safety inspections to verify effectiveness and complianceMaintain safe work zones for crews, motorists, and pedestriansWear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesCommunication & Coordination Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and project teamsInteract professionally with the traveling public and emergency respondersRespond promptly to changing conditions, incidents, or emergency situationsDocumentation & Accountability Maintain accurate documentation of traffic control setups, inspections, and incidentsFollow company policies, procedures, and safety standardsContribute to a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvementWhat Success Looks Like Safe and compliant traffic control setups across all job sitesTimely response to setup adjustments and changing conditionsConsistent adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standardsEffective communication and teamwork in field operationsReliable documentation and accountability in daily activitiesWork Environment Field-based role in active construction and roadway environmentsPhysically active work including standing, lifting, and working near trafficFast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on safety and efficiencyEqual Opportunity Employer ViaSun Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected classification under applicable law.Accommodation Statement Applicants with disabilities may be entitled to reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable state laws.
