The hours expected for this role will vary from 10‑20 hours per week but may increase depending on customer needs and skill set of the selected candidate.ResponsibilitiesDesign and AnalysisDevelop and review fire protection system designs in accordance with OPNAVINST 11320.23G.Perform hydraulic calculations and analyses for fire protection systems.Compliance and CodesEnsure all designs and installations comply with OPNAVINST 11320.23G, NFPA standards, and other relevant fire protection codes.Stay updated on changes in fire protection regulations and codes.Project ManagementCollaborate with project teams to integrate fire protection systems into overall project plans for Navy infrastructure and buildings.Provide technical support and guidance during the installation and commissioning phases.DocumentationPrepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and drawings in compliance with OPNAVINST 11320.23G.Maintain accurate records of all fire protection system designs and modifications.ConsultationOffer expert advice on fire protection strategies and solutions to internal and external stakeholders, including Navy personnel.Training and EducationDevelop and deliver training programs for Navy personnel on fire safety and protection in accordance with OPNAVINST 11320.23G.QualificationsRequiredRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection.Degree in Fire Protection Engineering.Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection engineering.Strong understanding of fire protection codes and standards, including OPNAVINST 11320.23G.Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.DesiredExperience with AutoCAD or other drafting software.Knowledge of hydraulic modeling software (e.g., Hydraflow, FlowMaster) and previous experience in a similar role within the Navy or supporting Navy infrastructure and buildings.This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.Pay RangeThere are a host of factors that can influence final salary including geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
